the mail

I'm in one of those spaces where the mail has become interesting.

1) I've done my taxes and am waiting for a cheque (the ole' cheque in the mail one...)
- sweet deal, i did my taxes online using ufile and it ended up being free! (quick and easy to boot)

2) I signed up for telus phone/cable/high-speed and the promotion included a free ipod nano. so that's on it's way. Angie keeps talking about 'her' ipod coming in the mail... i have no idea what she's talking about.

3) i ordered some books from amazon.ca that should be arriving some time soon. jonny baker recommended practicing passion: youth and the quest for a passionate church. I've been learning as much as I can about youth ministry inside and out. I'm not one of those guys dying for 'something more' outta church - but youth ministry is another story. I've seen both sides of it - healthy, cool ministries - and stale, boring youth groups. I know which one I want to be a part of.

- also ordered heretics and orthodoxy from G.K. Chesterton.

so the mail has become interesting once again

You are so right about the two kinds of youth groups ... brought back lots of memories. You are definitely on the right track. Ministry to today's youth is challenging beyond belief.

Oops, sorry, comments in wrong spot, but will add you gave us a smile ... it's great to be able to see beyond bills and junk mail.

Speaking as a husband who gave his wife an iPod for Christmas, you should give Angie the iPod. Suzanne wears her all the time around the house when she is doing whatever and she is very happy. She did not even want an iPod therefore you better give her the iPod or at least get her own iPod without delay.
