moving to calgary

I guess it's time to break the news.

We're moving to Calgary. I am working with the West Springs Free Methodist Church as an associate pastor. (yes, this can be abbreviated ass. pastor for a mildly humorous effect.)

I thought it might be time to blog it as I'm moving there on monday. I'm starting work immediately, and the family is following when I find a place to live. Calgary is great - we've found some great cardboard boxes close to the church that are selling for the low $200k's. It's all about the location.

Seriously, Angela and I are super excited about this opportunity. The church is in a great spot - I sat down with the board last week and was actually thrilled throughout the meeting. This week Ang and I stayed with Rob and Heather Van Norman and there's a really good connection between us. I'm looking forward to a positive working relationship between Rob and I. It seems that we are like-minded enough, and our skill/gift sets are very complementary.

Prayer requests would include helping us adjust from living in a town of about 400 pp. to living in a city of about 1 000 000pp.
Also - we're really laying it out there for just the right place to live. We want to be close to the church - and maybe have some good greenspace either in the backyard or close-by.

Wow. Good on ya mate.

I hope and pray the transition will go well, and God will bless you with a fruitfilled work out there amongst the heathen.

(Just a litle bitter that you'll be closer to a Krispy Kreme than I will be!)

I was happy to hear the news, Adam! The people I know from that congregation are amazing and I hope you find 'home' there.
