Back in S'toon for until tomorrow when the whole fam-damly will return to Calgary. Last week was a good one touring around, seeing what happens in the church.
I spoke at church on Sunday - I guess it was a little bit autobiographical - a little bit blah blah blah... the definite benefit was having spent time with Rob (the lead pastor) so I know where he's coming from and I felt very comfortable just sharing exactly what I've been thinking about. It takes a certain atmosphere to be able to do that - and there's definitely that kind of feel to the church.
Another nice thing was some other familiar faces - Chris and Jessica Jacobson were there - and I took it as a personal kind of support... also cool just seeing Chad and Natasha Frentz (regulars, but definitely familiars...) Tim and Leah Carlson.
Tonnes of little kids in the church - so I know Ang is going to enjoy getting into things and meeting people. The music @ west springs is really well put together too.
Downsides to the morning would include the length of time I spoke for... I didn't exactly clock it which is lame... but I would say 30-40 minutes. Yikes... I'm reminded of Dennis' advice - that if you haven't said what you want to say after 20 minutes... shut it down.
