I've been thinking about travelling to Israel again. In 2001 I spent a month in the country with some school mates and I'd love to take another trip with my wife and kids.
While the country makes headlines daily and it's true there is a lot of terrorism and tension in Jerusalem and many of the cities. I found my travels to be very safe, and the people on every side to be quite charming. Tourism is one of the nations greatest economies and I met people from many countries - even a couple from Toronto... (surprising, they were from Canada and I didn't know them!)
National Geographic has a great site called Xpedition Hall that illustrates the city of the Jerusalem through what they call Culture goggles. Through the site you can 'see' the city from the eyes of Jewish, Christian and Muslim faiths.
