Virtual Church Plant in a Muslim World
On Tuesday a group, frontier missions, came to school. We went to a number of presentations focusing around different issues like "folk Islam", and "ministering to muslim families"... and in the afternoon based on what we all learned - being divided into different teams - we participated in a "virtual church plant". It was interesting. Every presentor had spent over 10 years in a muslim country and brought something different to their presentation. While all of their experiences had been pretty tough, they were super positive, and still really hyped on getting back to their area. Their chief aim was to get people on teams and go back to the country they lived in. The guy from Kashmir was cool - talked about how Bill Clinton had stated it was the "most dangerous place in the world to live..."
It was wild to see them - former Canadians - fully prepared to suffer and lay down their life for the 1.3 billion muslims in the world - in order for them to have the opportunity to see more about Jesus Christ.
Another thing that grabbed me was their strategy - an entire team of people would go - at least 6, as many as 10-12 - and plant a church... in essence they became the church in that city - and just lived their life among the people.
