Saskatoon Sightings

I've decided I'm going to start a new category of posts that details everyone I run into that used to live in Saskatoon.

I've lived in Calgary for one year and have seen so many Saskatoonians that this will be my effort to keep it real in a SK way. I am also trying to stick it to the Star Phoenix and the socialist media in Skatch that keeps trying to say 'so many people' are moving back. I'm not seeing it.

I hope this category won't come to dominate my blog, but it might be interesting if it does.

The first Skatch sighting was last night in Chianti's restaurant over in the Crowfoot shopping centre. I saw my old Lakeview buddy Mary. Can't remember her last name right now - it was Irish if I remember correctly... anyway Mary and I were in highschool and hanging with the same kids for awhile - she's been in Calgary for seven years strong. Nice to see you Mary!

Peace out Skatch

Adam, that's me! It was good to run into you too, you have a lovely family.

I found your blog via some other old friends from Saskatoon, and couln't resist commenting.I agree with you, the Star Phoenix can stick it, I'm not likely ever moving back.

For a time, about three years ago, I spent a couple of months living with Mom and Dad and trying to find a job. While I was looking, I worked at the mall for minimum wage...rather insulting after working so hard for my degree! Apparently nobody else wanted to hire me, as I have an Albertan education. One that wasn't available at SK universities at the time.

So here I am, thriving in a career where I've been head hunted into my last two jobs. The opportunities just aren't available to me back home, no matter what Lorne Calvert wants everyone to belive.

Ok, I'm done ranting.
I'm looking forward to more SK sightings, I'm sure you must have them regularly, I know that I do.

Hey Merry - good stuff.

I'm glad you've found a rewarding spot to be in.

Education and talent should be put to good use!

Come over for supper sometime - shoot us an email. :)
